Twitter Increases Character Limit, Sort Of

According to VentureBeat, Twitter released news that the platform will no longer count images or usernames in the 140 character limit. Images and usernames could [traditionally] take up anywhere from four or five characters, to 30+ characters.

What does that mean? More room for great copy!

The change will be rolled out in the coming months, VentureBeat reported. Another alteration that has users saying, “FINALLY,” is the not so beloved “.@” requirement. The company has vowed to mix that element altogether.

It was reported that Twitter made the changes in order to “enhance the experience for existing users, but, even more importantly, to encourage more people to start using Twitter.”

In too chatty to post new content on Twitter. I only reblog and keep up with my followers. Maybe I’ll give it another chance.
